My story behind the camera

Hello, I'm Carsten. My photographic journey began over 15 years ago and has since taken me all over the world, with special stops in the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of Africa.

However, my home is and always will be the diverse Ruhr region, which constantly offers me new perspectives.

My focus:

My eye is drawn to the untamed moments of wildlife, the touching silence of nature, and the lively, often poetic energy of street art. For me, these three worlds combine to represent pure life—raw, authentic, and full of stories.

My philosophy:

I believe that great photography doesn't have to be complicated. The key lies in perception, enthusiasm for the subject, and the courage to just get started. My pictures should not only show what I saw, but also convey the simplicity and fun of discovering and capturing moments.

I have deepened my craft through “learning by doing” and in various workshops over the past few years. I want to share this passion and knowledge.
